We stayed at The Oaks hotel on Saturday night, using the inclusive offer. We were helped with our bags, by Mason who was very helpful. We had a lovely room in the annex building which was close to the Leisure Centre. We were given towels and a locker key and had use of the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. A relaxing start to our stay. We enjoyed a few the free drinks from 6pm - 11pm and a delicious, plentiful 2 course evening meal. Our servers were Amber and Shaun, who were friendly and professional. The hotel is lovely, with a stunning staircase and glass windows, lovely area outside with seating. Some of the areas need a little tlc, but doesn't detter from this wonderful building. Breakfast was a lovely, with a choice of cereals, crossiants and then a various choice of cooked breakfast. My vegetarian breakfast was lovely. This inclusive offer was amazing value and we were sad to learn it is no longer available at this hotel. We would definitely of stayed again. Hopefully the new owners will have a few future offers.

Stayed previously at the oaks but a few years ago at New Year’s Eve so was unable to do review as most of it was not remembered. Usually stay at higher trapp on all inclusive but as it was fully booked decided to try here again. Arrived with friends and had a lovely welcome from reception. Went to room to freshen up and went to bar pre all inclusive for a quick drink before dinner and all inclusive started ( bar manager could smile seemed like he didn’t want to be there but put it down to wedding that was happening) Dinner was beautiful despite it being a set 2 course not like higher trapp. (25 per person) but what made this meal was the waitress amber ( I think her name was) she couldn’t do enough . Drinks no problem. More drink no problem any problem I’ll sort it out. She’s a credit to the hotel. Booked in again for July and hopefully will be same.

The room we were given was 163 it has the worst view you have ever seen so much so it a public walkway and a wall the curtains don't close properly so there is people walking past looking it to your room ,the hotel no is terrible and left us a note saying here is 2 packet of crisp and a can of orange juice on us to stop you thinking about the view ,the worst thing in this this room was above the room is a leak in the gutter and in this area of the world it rains a lot so from 1 am till we checked out at 830 the noise was terrible ,it was like water torcher, and looking at it it has been doing this a long time

Stayed one night on the all inclusive deal. Hotel is very old with some lovely features, including a stunning stained glass window. We were checked in by a polite young man who directed us to our room. There are lots of steps to navigate so not for the less mobile. Carpets in corridors etc threadbare but overall hotel is ok. Room was fine, comfy bed, decent shower over the bath, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. View was a brick wall which didn't really bother us as we were not intended to stay in the room other than to sleep and shower. They did provide 2 cans of soft drinks and crisps to compensate for the lack of view. Good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits in the room. Good selection of drinks on the all inclusive list and no big queues at the bar. The only down side was the food and the service in the restaurant. I ordered a Caesar salad having checked that the bacon was not smoked, lovely salad arrived without bacon or Parmesan. This was remedied and the salad was nice. Husband chose the soup which was good, but very very dry bread. Husband's main course was butterflied garlic chicken with fries. Chicken was again very very dry. My fish and chips were terrible. Dried out chips and soggy inedible batter in the fish. I left all of the batter. I told the waitress who commented the chefs should do better as there were 2 of them. Another guest complained about something and was told by the waitress that the kitchen was not her department. Breakfast was equally poor. Bacon was ok, under cooked sausage that we didn't even touch, hard eggs, cheap beans with no sauce on them. Black pudding and hash browns were ok. Reasonable selection of cereal and good bread to toast. We've stayed at one of the other Lavender hotels, The Old Mill where the food was good. Would not stay at the The Oaks again because of the poor food. The waitress did say that the Hotel has been sold so will no longer be part of the Lavender Hotel group.

We have stayed here a couple of times now and each time have thoroughly enjoyed our time spent there. The rooms are nice and the breakfasts are great, fresh produce is used making it a pleasure to eat there! The evening meals are really tasty too! Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful staff! Thank you.

Long trek upstairs through what felt like a rabbit warren. No phone in room to call reception . Super thin pillows(2) when we asked for two more person was put out . Carpet stained, walls dirty. Rooms are not serviced everyday. Hotel is used as a wedding and the music pulses to the wee hours with smokers ( pot and cigarettes ) smoking at door and aroma wafting through hotel. I would not sit on the sofa- disgusting .

The Oaks hotel hosted my mothers wedding last weekend, the venue its self is lovely situated in a great location for accessibility, The manager Donna and staff were very helpful and on hand to help with all aspects of decorating and moving things around to accommodate the large wedding party! Nothing was too much! Bridal suite was a beautiful large suite with two room and a bathroom, with large windows which allowed in natural light. Food was to a good standard, however breakfast was a little on the oily side. Drinks were a little pricey as most guest reported but to be expected being a wedding venue! Overall great experience couldn’t be more greatful to the staff for all their assistance. Didn’t get to use the Spa and leisure facilities due times however I have rebooked the all inclusive package for this weekend and intend to see what it’s like!
